On our way to people's dental hospital we saw Bajey ko sekuwa restaurant at sorakhutte and we were so eager to get try that resturant. We had such a nice impression of “Bajey ko sekuwa” after we visited the restaurant at battisputali. The ambience and the food were both good there. When we reached “Bajey ko sekuwa” at sorakhutte, the building looked ok and the kitchen was first before we entered the building which also looked ok with few cooks and helpers. There were around 5 rooms in first floor and we choose one and waited for waiter to come and take orders. The floors were not cleaned , the furniture were old and dirty seemed like abandoned house with old lamps. We got bored as no one appeared so we decided to leave. When we left the restaurant, the people at the kitchen were not even concerned about it. In Nepal brand does not have any value, even the well know restaurant chain has such customer service. From next time, I will not go with brand name in case of restaurants as there is no consistency of service or quality.
Then we went to Harati restaurant , a typical newari restaurant with low price . we ordered tuccha( set with beaten rice, bhatmas , haku chuela , aluachar, and kachila ) and mixed chatamari along with some soft drinks. I am not a really good fan of kachila which is uncooked meat, otherwise tuccha set was good but I really enjoyed chatamari. Sadly, Harati restaurant no longer provide momo due to lack of LPG. According to the owner, the restaurant currently was unable to provide momo due to lack of gas but it will keep on serving other newari recipes to its customers. I would definitely recommend to try Harati restaurant at sorakhutte.
